About Me

Hi, I’m Josh, a qualified hypnotherapist with a passion for helping people create lasting, positive change in their lives.

I trained in Bristol with Chrysalis and am continuing my studies and development in working within my specialised interests. I am also an accredited member of the National Association of Hypnotherapists. Alongside my clinical training, I bring over 30 years of experience in theatre, television, and film—an industry I know well, with all its unique pressures and demands. This has inspired me to specialise in supporting people working in the creative and media industries. I also offer reduced-rate sessions for young people starting out in these fields, helping them build resilience, confidence, and focus as they take their first steps.

My areas of work include managing anxiety, building self-confidence, breaking unhelpful habits, improving sleep, overcoming fears, and enhancing performance. I also have a particular interest in supporting men, with a focus on emotional and sexual health—creating a safe, open space for conversations that are often difficult to have elsewhere.

As a father of three grown-up sons, all of whom have achieved success in their own fields, I understand both the challenges and the rewards of finding your own path in life. I aim to bring that same encouragement and belief into my practice, offering clients a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where real change can happen.

We’ll begin with a relaxed chat about what you’d like to focus on, so I can tailor the session to your needs. Then, I’ll guide you into a comfortable state of relaxation — a bit like that dreamy space between being awake and drifting off to sleep. You’re always in control, fully aware, and able to bring yourself back at any time.

Once you’re in this focused, calm state, we’ll work together using positive suggestions, imagery, and gentle techniques to help reframe unhelpful patterns and open up new, more empowering ways of thinking and feeling. Many people describe it as deeply calming, uplifting, and surprisingly refreshing.

We’ll finish by gently bringing you back to full alertness, leaving you feeling relaxed, clear-headed, and motivated. And because hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind, the benefits can continue to grow long after the session ends.
